A Chinese woman who stayed at the hotel, unaware of the newly implemented rules, was taken aback when she noticed a sign announcing that patrons would be required to pay extra for an additional shower or bath. The hotel charges a substantial 2500 yuan or approximately Rs 28,850 per night, according to The South China Morning Post.

The woman shared a photograph of the sign, and it quickly gained widespread attention online. Subsequently, a hotel staff member explained that this policy was introduced to curtail excessive water consumption by guests.

The staff member elaborated that the policy aimed to ensure an uninterrupted water supply, particularly during the summer season. Additionally, the staff member clarified that the sign had been on display for about a month, but no fines had been imposed as of yet.

Despite this explanation, netizens across various social media platforms criticized the hotel for its peculiar fee and posed numerous questions. One user humorously inquired, "What if two people are staying in a room?" Another user questioned, "Does the hotel charge for air conditioning usage?"

This instance is just one among many where unconventional policies adopted by establishments have sparked controversy. Earlier this year, a family in Italy was taken aback when they received a bill of 20 euros (approximately Rs 1800) for their cake being divided into 20 pieces. The family had simply wanted to celebrate a birthday peacefully at a restaurant in Palermo, Sicily.
