Scandic to open climate-neutral hotel in Sundsvall in 2024

Scandic will  open a climate-neutral hotel in Sundsvall in the north east of Sweden in 2024. The 210-room hotel in downtown Sundsvall in the city harbour area and will be called Scandic Sundsvall Central.

The building’s frame, facade and interior will be made of wood be built of wood, and is certified to the environmental standard Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold.

The hotel will run on 100 per cent renewable electricity from hydropower, will be certified according to the Nordic Swan Ecolabel and will have solar panels.

The hotel will have a restaurant and bar area on the ground floor, a spa and wellness facilities, gym and meeting rooms on the second floor, all with views of the Bothnian Sea.

Scandic already operates two hotels in Sundsvall with a total of 312 rooms.
