Features of the $700 million hotel include ornamental ceilings decorated with 24-carat gold leaf, as well as eight restaurants and bars and Dubai’s largest indoor pool.
It has been closed since April 2020, and is currently schedule to reopen on September 30, 2021.
In a statement Kempinski said:
“From its opening in November 2018, Emerald Palace Kempinski Dubai has delivered beautiful guest experiences within magnificent surroundings, creating lasting memories.
“Kempinski Hotels thanks the hotel owning company for the constructive partnership at this property over the past three years and provides its full support for a smooth transition phase.”
It’s not clear whether the hotel will take on a new brand or operate as an independent property going forward.
